
During the morning sessions, scheduled each month, participants will develop the basic awareness of the skills necessary to take on a leadership role in the public and/or private sector that will have a positive impact on the community's quality of life. The sessions will provide participants with a basic awareness of key skills necessary to influence and initiate actions that will prepare them to be the future leaders of Tuscarawas County.
Overview of Tuscarawas County/Bus Trip: Participants will move about the county and determine similarities and differences in various communities throughout Tuscarawas County. Participants will receive a snap shot view of those area and some of the issues they face (including agricultural, cultural arts, and quality of life.)
Creative Thinking and Problem Solving: This session provides a problem solving process that clarifies the critical path from symptoms to causes, solutions, and action plans.
Emotional Intelligence: The participants will learn about controlling and monitoring their emotions.
Ethical Clarity: The participants will learn about making decision which involves what is right or wrong and then doing the right thing. The session will cover values such as respect, honesty, fairness, responsibility, etc.
Grants and Resources: The participants will get an overview of what grants and resources are available in Tuscarawas County.
Leading Through Conflict: How to handle conflict between individuals in group situations and gives tools for rebuilding relationships between team members.
Speaking and Motivation: This session will help participants feel more comfortable when giving speeches or speaking in public.
Strategic Planning: This session provides planning and actions steps that help participants take the initiative to coordinate well with one another to reach their goals and the organization's as well, such as fund raising and marketing.
Visionary Leadership and Appreciative Inquiry: This session will provide the participants ways to have visionary leadership and recognizing the best in people, their organizations, and the relevant world around them.
